Should concealer be one shade lighter than foundation, or match your skin tone?
For under and around the eyes, slightly lighter, yes. To cover spots, no. It should be the same as your base color or very slightly lighter...definitely not darker!
Less is more.
Blot before you keep powdering, it'll make for less build up.
Always use sunscreen and take your makeup off at the end of the day.

What inspired you to become a makeup artist?
I am a fine artist and I just literally fell into it from the world of Haute Couture modeling after being asked to do everyone's makeup. It enabled me to keep painting and actually make a living doing something I love.
What advice would you give someone looking to become a professional makeup artist?
It takes more than just a love of makeup product to become successful. Practice, practice, practice! Hone your art skills, learn about color theory, and learn about skin.
What is the biggest mistake you see people making with cosmetics?
Overuse. Trying to cover skin problems with thick layers, applying too much blush, and too much eye makeup are great examples.
What three items would you want with you on a desert island?
Assuming there is a constant supply of fresh water: (hey, I worked on an island for years...)
high SPF sunscreen, lip balm, and tweezers.
What is your biggest guilty pleasure?
Diet Coke
Where is your favorite place to relax?
I've always loved nature, so anywhere outdoors. I find refuge in even the simplest places; including my own back yard.
Do you have a makeup secret to help women look younger?
Strategically placed concealer can knock years off. But no "raccooning" under the eyes...apply it only where it's dark
What are your must-have CARGO products?
Matte Bronzer in Medium, Water Resistant Bronzer, Blush, blu_ray High Definition Mattifier, and the eye shadows - especially St. Tropez.
What CARGO products do you think everyone should own?
One of the bronzers for sure - matte works for everyone - it has no shimmer so I find it's fairly universal. Also, the blu_ray High Definition Mattifier if you have oily skin, a blush in your favorite color that makes you look healthy and feel beautiful, and a LashActivator Mascara.
