Should concealer go on over or under your foundation??

I personally like to apply the concealer after I have applied the foundation.

Under eye concealer is a great way to brighten the eyes. If there are dark shadows to cover you have to use a concealer with an orange base to cancel the purple tone. And use a small brush to place the concealer strategically only over the shadow and blend lightly. Never take concealer and just apply under the whole eye.

What inspired you to become a makeup artist?

I saw the movie Little Big Man with Dustin Hoffman and was inspired by the amazing makeup of Dick Smith. I realized that a good makeup artist had to have a range of talent in order to create beauty makeup as well as old age or character makeup.

What advice would you give someone looking to become a professional makeup artist?

It can be a wonderful career but it is also takes a lot of work and study. We never finish learning and growing in our craft. I work with many generous makeup artists and we all share our knowledge of new techniques and products with each other.

What is the biggest mistake you see people making with cosmetics?

Using the wrong tone or shade of foundation is one of the biggest mistakes I see .

What is your biggest guilty pleasure?

Online shopping!

Where is your favorite place to relax?

Hawaii!!!

Do you have a makeup secret to help women look younger?

Less is more. Too much powder or foundation can definitely make a woman look older. The skin should glow, so a dewy finish works well for aging skin. Also, a pop of color on the apples of the cheeks always works!

What are your favorite CARGO products?

I love all the blu_ray products since most of the projects I have been working on are shot in HD. High Definition is very unforgiving and the makeup has to blend seamlessly onto the skin. I always use the blu_ray pressed powders.

What CARGO products do you think everyone should own?

The blushes are fantastic... just the right amount of shimmer and great colors. Plus, the EyeLighter is great to brighten the inner and outer corners of the eye.
